To Stay a Recluse (For a While)

                                                                  Peace in Chaos

To Stay a Recluse (For a While)

I am not looking to disappear.
Not from people, not from duty, not from life.

I am not hiding.

But there is a kind of silence I seek—
not the absence of sound,
but the clearing of clutter.
Not a retreat from the world,
but a resting within it,
beneath the surfaces.

I am drawn to stillness
not because I am broken,
but because something in me wishes to breathe without performance,
to be without obligation,
to let the murky waters settle
until the reflections become clear again.

This isn’t abandonment.
It is an arrival.
This isn’t escape.
It’s a laying down of arms, a pause in the battle,
a return to center.

I am simply choosing to rest awhile—
in the arms of quiet,
beneath the tree of solitude,
beside the stream of deeper thought.

If I seem distant,
know that I am not gone.
I am here—
just more slowly.
