The Intention Experiment -Lynn McTaggart.
I recently read The Intention Experiment by Lynne McTaggart and found myself deeply absorbed, stirred, even. The book brings together a wide range of scientific experiments and spiritual perspectives, attempting to prove that our intentions — our focused thoughts — have the power to influence the physical world. Some of it felt very affirming. Some of it raised old questions.
There’s a part of me still grappling with the language of science. Perhaps it goes back to my horror stories with mathematics — a lifelong sense of discomfort and even rebellion against anything too exact, too clinical. I felt this when listening to people like Eric Weinstein or Sadhguru as well. A feeling of admiration mixed with irritation. They speak truths, yes, but often from such lofty towers that it feels hard for someone like me — a wanderer, a spiritual nomad, a latecomer to academic credibility — to fully breathe in their air without choking a little.
Still, I can’t ignore the core message. That we are not separate. That thought and matter are intertwined. That consciousness itself is not isolated in our heads but part of the greater field of being. This is what shamans, healers, monks, and mystics have always said. And now science circles back with its measuring instruments, whispering: maybe they were right all along.
The Mind is a mystery unto itself. A work by my son Karim Bahari while still in diapersI’m reminded of what Cleve Backster found — plants reacting to human thoughts, even from miles away. Or Masaru Emoto's water crystals shaped by loving words. It’s poetic, almost too beautiful to be real — but what if it is? What if intention, prayer, meditation, presence — these aren’t mere rituals, but mechanisms?
Maybe the next great healing doesn’t come from the lab, but from remembering something ancient: that everything is connected. That our suffering and joy ripple through the world in ways we don’t yet fully grasp. That we’re not waiting for technology to save us. We’re waiting to remember who we are.
