A Morning Dedication
21st July 2025 — Bayan Bay, Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang
This morning, as the Subuh azan drifted through the air like a call from another world, I paused. Just as I reached for the keys to begin my day, the Divine called me back — not into action, but into remembrance.
My thoughts turned, without explanation, toward those who have returned to the realm of the unseen —
My late wife.
My two elder brothers.
My beloved parents and grandparents.
My uncles and aunts, my teachers and friends —
Each of them is a soul who once walked with me through the valleys and peaks of this life.
I do not ask why these memories arrive. The soul knows what it needs to honour. And today, I honour them all — with gratitude, with love, with tears that neither mourn nor celebrate, but simply remember.
To those whose lives I touched, in moments of joy or shadows of despair — I ask your forgiveness, and I offer mine.
To those who shaped me, even in silence, even in parting — I bow in gratitude.
To those now beyond the veil — I dedicate this morning’s breath, this quiet consciousness, this heart that still beats.
Aho!
May Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, forgive them and embrace them in Light.
May He grant them peace, forgiveness, and a place in His Eternal Home.
