Nourishment Over Junk Food for the Soul -

🌀 Nourishment Over Junk Food for the Soul

This morning, I caught myself scrolling—an hour gone down the rabbit hole of TikTok, shorts, and endless digital noise. Yes, a few clips were informative, some even inspiring—but I was left feeling hollow, a faint guilt lingering in the space between distraction and desire.

I asked myself:

Why do I keep doing this?
Why do I feed my soul with things that never truly satisfy?

It’s not just entertainment. It’s a kind of hunger. A craving not for content, but for connection, for stillness, for Truth.

I found more meaning in a few minutes of quiet reflection—this very exchange of thoughts—than in an entire hour of passive scrolling. That alone speaks volumes.

“It’s the difference between nourishment and junk food for the soul.”

And that truth stayed with me.

Tomorrow, I plan to take a walk to the Jerejak Jetty, a place tied to my past, where I once worked and walked and watched life go by. I will return—not just to a place, but to a moment of presence. If I can make it to the island, I will. If not, the journey itself is already sacred.

The retreat I keep postponing—be it to Kapas or SRI LOVELY—is calling. But maybe the retreat begins the moment I stop scrolling and start walking.

Maybe nourishment begins with just one conscious step.
