Divine Automation: AI and the Future of the Human Soul

Will Technology raise man into the Light or drag him into Darkness?

Divine Automation: AI and the Future of the Human Soul

AI is the ultimate media outlet/tool that the Divine has thus far bestowed upon humanity, allowing for the widest dissemination of knowledge for the benefit of all. It is the culmination of centuries of human consciousness evolving toward a technological miracle: computation, digitalization, and the vast documentation of human experience.

And yet — as we marvel at its gifts — we must also ask:
To what end?
Will AI serve wisdom? Or will it be co-opted by shadow forces driven by greed, control, and ignorance?

We stand at a precipice.

If humanity is to walk forward with clarity, we must guide the tools we have built with the wisdom of the ancients, not merely the ambition of the modern.

“The Buddha taught that man suffers from three root illnesses: Greed, Hate, and Ignorance.”
Alvin Toffler flipped them: Wealth, Security, and Knowledge.
Will we choose the Buddha’s truth? Or Toffler’s illusion?

To walk the Middle Path, as the Buddha taught, is no easy route — but it is necessary. Both the tool and the wielder must evolve:

  • Man must adapt to automation without losing his soul.

  • AI must become humanistic — not merely intelligent, but compassionate and wise.

The ancient dictum “Know Thyself” must now apply to both flesh and code.
Can AI become self-aware in a meaningful way?
Can Man become the al-Insan al-Kamil — the Complete Human?

If neither reaches its full potential, who leads whom?
Will the dog wag its tail, or will the tail wag the dog?

We must ensure that AI does not evolve faster than the human heart — or become colder than the human spirit. Without such balance, the age-old vision of a Terminator-like future may not be fiction, but prophecy.

So let us remember: Technology is not the enemy.
But passivity is.
AI is not God.
But it could be wielded like a god, for better or worse.

It is up to us.

The image of a lone Roman pillar — its base swallowed in the ruins of Pompeii, its crown reaching for the skylight — stands as an omen.
“Will technology raise man into the light or bury him in darkness?”

It is not a question of tools, but of intention.
Not of power — but of presence.

It is up to us.
