Many speak of portals: here is my take on the subject.
Some mean gateways between dimensions—thin veils between worlds, sacred sites on Earth, cosmic alignments. Others speak of inner portals: a deep meditation, a brush with death, a sudden burst of insight during a psychedelic journey.
My take? Portals are real—but not necessarily in the science-fiction sense. They are thresholds. Liminal moments. Crossroads where the illusion cracks and the deeper truth peeks through.
A portal can be:
– A profound personal loss that shatters the ego’s grip.
– A silence so deep it unhooks you from time.
– An image, a word, a place in nature—like the Aleutians—so raw it reminds you you’re alive.
– A moment of surrender. A genuine act of love.
– The sunrise, the sunset, the space between inhale and exhale.
Sometimes it’s not the event or place that is the portal—it’s you. The instant your awareness shifts from “What can I get?” to “What is here, truly?”—that’s the passage. That’s the opening.
Portals don’t always take you to another world. Sometimes, they bring you back home to yourself.
