Part Three: The Field of Infinite Possibility
The field of infinite possibility — I see it as the ground where all things are possible, the source from which all form arises. It is the place before thought, before shape, before the “yes” and “no” of the mind. Out of this vast openness, manifestation takes place.
In Hermetic thought, this is the Field to be prepared. In physics, some would call it the quantum field. In Islam, it is reflected in the unseen (ghayb) and the Divine command: Kun fa-yakūn — “Be! and it is.” All creation flows from this ground, this space of pure potential where God’s will moves without obstacle.
As human beings, we are not separate from this field. It is not so much a right we claim as it is an inheritance — a reminder of our origin. The Qur’an tells us that the Creator breathed into us of His Spirit, and so we carry within us a spark of that infinite possibility. Our role is to recognize it, align with it, and let it guide us.
When alignment is present — body, mind, soul, and spirit tuned together — synchronicities bloom. What looks like chance or coincidence is revealed as a hidden order, signs (āyāt) scattered along the path. The Field responds, not because we control it, but because we are in harmony with the greater design.
This is why alignment matters. By preparing the body with wudhu, calming the mind with zikr, softening the soul with doa, and surrendering the spirit with Redha, we prepare the Field within us. And when the inner Field is clear, it resonates with the outer Field — the infinite ground of possibility in which the universe itself is unfolding.
So the Field is both within and beyond us. It is the soil from which all things arise and the sky into which all things dissolve. To touch it is not to claim ownership, but to stand in awe of the One who sustains it all.
إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ شَيْئًا أَنْ يَقُولَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
“His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.”
(Qur’an 36:82)
