Lessons from the Unseen: Lessons from a recurring dream.

Lessons from the Unseen: Lessons from a recurring dream.

Last night’s dream carried me once again on the old theme of trying to get home. The path was not easy — it was hilly, with streams and slippery mud, and it involved strange encounters. Along the way, I saw two children splashing in the water, with an infant left nearby on a rock. When the baby slipped into the stream, I jumped in, pulled it out, and returned it safely to a rustic home where elderly women received it.

Still, I walked on, sliding through the mud. Two odd figures offered me rides on sledge-like contraptions, but they felt wrong, and I refused. The journey grew darker, and fear began to take form in my mind. I imagined the worst waiting ahead — yet I shook it off with the attitude of, “So be it, I am ready.”

With that, the fear dissolved. I arrived in darkness, but I was welcomed and greeted with respect. I knew I had reached home.

Sometimes the greatest test is not the obstacles before us, but the shadows we conjure within. When we step forward anyway — ready for whatever comes — the path clears, and the homecoming is assured.

“It may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you,
and it may be that you love a thing while it is bad for you.
Allah knows, and you do not know.”

— Qur’an 2:216

WallahuAlam!
