A revisit to Awi's Yellow House located on the banks of the Terengganu River  close to the Sultan Mahmud Bridge brought some nostalgic memories. Though not much have changed over the years the place still holds a charm for those who have eyes for the rustic side of life.
The Yellow House is still catering to that special clientele of  back packers and long term residents who travels cheap and dont mind the bare necessities when it comes to lodging. A clean bed, a fan a mosquito netting and a small common kitchen with a refrigerator, what else could one ask for for a bare thrity to forty  Malaysian Ringgit a night.
Although Awi was not home i was able to hangout with his brother Hashim who is a great model boat builder and is also handy with the real thing. Hashim works at the Marina where they have the Monsoon Cup race every year.
The yellow House is located on Pulau Duyung and for msot it would be a scenic walk  af and when the day is not too hot to do so. It a great place to carry a camera around for there many surprising shots that one can stumble upon on this walk around the island.
For any city dweller a taste of a stay at the yellow House would be an ideal experience as it is neither  a five star nor a fallen star homestay. It would be something to talk about when you return home to say the least.

Before so call development and the state governemnt decide to step in and further teardown everything the is worth keeping and replace them with eyesores called high class Hotels and Motels I wuld urge you to take your chances and drop by this unique place of a lifetime.
If you happen to catch Awi tell him Shamsul sent you and get a discount.
The background you see in both these pictures is the skyline of the Town of Kuala Terengganu which is located right across the river from where the Yellow House is.
