2019 -- 2021 Recap; Living in abject denial.

 And a New Year begins! It's the same year after year for the pas 72 years and it seems I have not changed. The whole world around me has go through changes like there is no tomorrow, but me, I am still the same entity living a life of worries and fear, discord and dissatisfaction, a life of a roller coaster ride that since the beginning has tossed and turned my stomach inside out but I am still the same! I am still looking at it all through the eys of the kid that first had his hard on and wondered what the hell was it all about. The kid who was slapped around for making a fool of himself by not knowing his multiplication tables and the fool who was forced to worship in the Buddhist temple and the mosque at the same time in his tender years. Yes I was and still is mixed up kid, only I am now 72 and starting to fart far more often and excessively than I used to, but my mind refuses to admit the changes happening around me is as of significance as to who I truly am. A New Year where or what will it bring me in the form of genuine change, God only knows and He I don't think has much time to care about me or so it seems, too many disasters and mayhem, too much corruption and bamboozling going on around the planet to worry about one yo yo. 

2021 has left me with a whole lot of thoughts not worth carrying forward with me into the future and so I have to work on eliminating the files and editing the contents of my memory bank, Seeing that I am still breathing I must say I have no choice but to set a upon a course whereby new and more challenging paths are laid before me to venture forward into the unknown territories of human existence. There is much to learn and to absorb and much to discard and detach from.Time is of the essence as the body and mind is on a downward curve spiraling to  a halt which could happen at anytime for one of my age. However one of my favorite female comedians ahd just taken that one step beyond at the age of 99 and her departure has set me to looking forward with my own remaining years making sure it is not frittered away in vain: may you beautiful and funny soul rest in peace Betty White and thank you for the years of laughter you shared during those cold Wisconsin winters of my life during the seventies and eighties.

I gave in reluctantly to be vaccinated twice for COVID19 even though I had the virus attack beforehand which lasted for 12-14 days. I gave in for the sake of conveniences mostly and one being able to travel and eat at restaurants and secondly because my two childrens' insistence. Now the Minister of Health is considering that we have two more shots for booster's sake In the last two years I have never felt my freedom as a man being robbed from me by the system of a failed government that is making choices as they move along in handling the Pandemic crisis and for this I am glad I will not be around for too much longer on this planet and am glad that I do not have grandchildren to feel sorry for. After looking into the causes and effects of the Pandemic globally, I am more skeptical than ever about the whole scenario of how we have become at the mercy of our existing system and how we have been exploited by the very people we have elected to run the country and I would most probably be accused being a conspiracy theorist if I am faced with the law for believing in what I do. I do not deny the clear and present danger of the COVID virus but I am not at ease with how it has been dealt with and exploited by the parties concern. I feel the remedy is much more painful than the cure fro the average man on the street.

The floods that is now hitting various parts of the country causing havoc in its wake is not just another natural phenomena despite the fact that it is the monsoon season which actually happens along the coastal areas of the South China Seas at this time of the year. The past few weeks saw floods sweeping away homes and bridges and leaving thousands stranded along the west coast and perhaps we can blame it on the climate change phenomena like we did the El Nino phenomena a few years ago. However the floods is caused much more than nature and the main factor being wanton logging and poor maintenance of our drainage system especially in the areas in and around the cities. It seems development and constructions of new communities places little interest in the problems of water run offs management and there is no government entity that does a thorough monitoring of this issue. We live in abject denial most of us of the consequences of a disaster happening due to our complacency. The environmental impact assessment study of long term impact is almost  unheard of in most cases or is bought and paid for to ease the permit of allowing a project to be carried out. Bottom line there is money to be made all around.

On the international scene, wars are still being fought and a few major ones is brewing or so it seems according to the various news on the Internet. Russia and the United States are still playing the 'Russian roulette' over the Ukraine issue among others. China and the US are playing cat and mouse games over who has the largest satellites or the tiniest with the fate of Taiwan being thrown in as a pawn. In the Middles East the Muslim countries are at each other throats with the help of Western munitions and intelligence at the art of sowing discord and mayhem. Parts of South Africa is becoming a tinderbox waiting to be fully lit and in India, the Muslims are being targeted for extermination with the blessings of the ruling party...one could go on like what is happening in Myanmar and so forth. In the meantime th number of displaced people is phenomenal all over the world and the cry for help is falling upon deaf ears. This is what 2019-2021 was like and would probably continue to do so and it would take a Divine intervention or a catastrophic global disaster to make for a Global change what COVID19 failed to achieve.
