A Trip long overdue to the SRI LOVELY organic farm in Belantik, Sik, Kedah.

Last Tuesday the 4th.of January, my new found buddy Ben Rongen and I decided to take a drive and to SRI LOVELY, or Kampung Lintang located a the foothills of the small town of Belantik in Sik, Kedah. Our first stop upon arriving in the area was at Tasik Gubir or the Muda Dam where I had first visited in 2012.  What was most attractive at the site was the rows of sampans or wooden boats that were lined by the shoreline. Ben, who is originally from Australia was impressed by these boats and as a matter of fact the whole area in itself. The dam water was at its highest and relatively very calm.

These boats that comfortably can take three people are used to take visitors and tourists into the interior part of the lake for camping trips and wild life observations or even fishing. We were told that they were built by the locals from nearby villages. As the lake is relatively calm most of the time, they are comfortable to ride in and are for hire for those who have the experience of handling motor boats.

Our next stop was at the organic farm where a dip in the chilling cold fast flowing water was the wake up call for the body and mind. It brought back fond memories for me of my stay here off and on since 2012, The water is relative very clean as there is no industrial activities up river from where we were. The greenery was refreshing after being locked down in our apartment back in the city.
We stayed for the night in the first right hand most chalet where I had stayed before as the first person to do so when it was first constructed. The chalets were constructed primarily with bamboo except for the roofing where a type of tough local palm was used and the dark roofing was added later.
As the rice was about ready for the harvesting the major problem being faced today is how to deter the birds from reaping them before the humans can. These little birds like the finch dive in droves into the rice field and has been a menace to the farm. As killing them is not allowed, ways and means to keep them at bay were being implemented.
The morning sun caste its rays through thee branches giving the whole area a sense of a fairyland.
This can be made to happen when heavy smoke is floated into the air by burning the dried leaves on the ground. I found a rake and started raking the area of dried leaves as I have done before during my many visits to this place in the past.

It was good to feel at home again after so long of not being able to visit the organic farm. To meet the Captain, Zakaria Amantasha and a few others and still felt like you never really left the place.
There are places in some parts of the world that exudes energy and power that can be harnessed into one's being and used in manifesting creative and productive activities or become a potent protective armor against unseen forces. One just has to become sensitive to this energy by serving the environment surrounding the area like it is a temple or a refuge; make it one's holy or spiritual site.
