7th. Day of the Missing Boeing 777 - MAS Flight MH370

 The 'Khutbah' today for the Friday Prayer given by the Khatib or Imam at the mosque was centered upon the fate of this country of late. How God is the Tester and that were being tested for our faith in enduring the pain suffering of fellow man, women and child through the floods that had recently ravaged various parts of the country and the haze that is still causing discomfort and the attack of the Dengue fever that has place Penang as one of the most highly affected areas. However the missing of flight 370 is in comparison the most critical of God's test yet as it affects all walks of life not only locally but globally. Locally the pilot of the plane is from this village and thus it affects many in the community or friends and relatives. Globally it is a matter of an unanswered riddle that is yet to be made clear of what has truly happened.
Speculations is rife with each and everyone having their own theories and explanations and as for prayers, especially today being a Friday, millions of Muslims has performed the Solat sunat hajat, s special prayer to ask for guidance and protection from the Al-Mighty, and the deliverance of those who are trapped into this un-explainable phenomena and their families and friends. The country is facing a greater test; allot of questions has arisen from the inability to recover a missing Boeing 777 along with its ill fated passengers and the inefficiency by it agencies in allowing two subversive elements to board the plane with false passports. It has be criticized international bodies for the poor manner in which the whole episode is being handled from every perspective. Most sadly it has also become a comic when individuals who delve in the supernatural to perform in public invocations and rituals that is against the Islamic tenets thus creating another religious uproar to add to the already chaotic scene not to mention again this puts Malaysia as the laughing stock of the worldwide web.
It is to the Super Powers countries such as the United States and China, Britain and Japan that claims to have and is suing their latest in communication technologies including satellites and whatever else that they have within their arsenals to track this missing plane, God is saying, " how fragile you are!".So much for your claim to technological superiority like being able to track down a camel lost in the desert or locating a needle in the haystack. Here is a case scenario whereby plane simply vanishes for the last seven days and none of these nations or any other has been able to even come close to finding it. Perhaps we should ask David what he did with it as Copperfield is know to make things disappear, maybe he can make things reappear. Here is the unknown factor that most developed minds or nations cannot come to grasp with an equation that does not make any sense; "The twilight Zone". "The Bermuda Triangle" the Alien Abduction Syndrome, you name it there is a phenomenal theory that will have its role to play in this day and age just like the "Bomoh' or Malay Shaman who peers through his "Bamboo telescope and shaking his coconuts.
Science and technology is being put to the grind to resolve this mystery and failing which mankind will have to ask himself what if? What if it is indeed a warning of things to come? The we are not really that smart as we think we are that the "Ground can still reach up and take a bite out of out butt right out of the skies and  there is no a thing we can do about it. The fact that we have nothing to show for for the past seven days is already testimony to our lacking. Our egotistical claim to be superior over other species is beginning to haunt us as the planet id visited upon by disaster upon natural disaster some of which is today does not even make the evening news anymore.
Perhaps this is yet another 'Wake up call" for all of us to step back and evaluate ourselves, our potentials and our weaknesses; that we are not infallible.Despite our collective effort and our technological advancement we are still helpless in the face of tragedy that by right should have not happened and even if it does that can be resolved within seven minutes not seven hours or seven days. We can shame the Bomoh for his effort but what have we to say for ourselves; we the skeptics?? Is is God's Will? As a Muslim, I say Yes everything is, and he is the tester of human durability our faith and our lack of it. We are but witnesses to His Will whether we are aware of it or not. And these past week saw how the Unknown has laid its hand into our collective lives to test our faith.... will He answer the millions who has prayed for His intervention in this our dark hours or will science and technology explain in simple terms what has occurred and produce evidence to their claims. This we wait and see and in the mean time let us focus on where we went wrong.
