The Trial of Genocide- Aung San Suk Yi -2

It is not my intention to be defending any wrong doings against the Rohingyas or the Palestinians or those who are collateral victims of the Syrian domestic civil strife; no sir, but it is my conscience as  part of this human race telling me that The International Court of Justice can do much better than to allow for a scapegoat being created for the wrong doings of the real culprits; go after the fingers that pulls the trigger or better still those who gave the orders. For every life of a child taken by whatever means and for whatever reason I am responsible as much as the rest of humanity for there is no justification strong enough to account for this horrendous acts of wanton blood lust except that man has become beasts that claims himself civilized. Humanity as a whole has become comfortably numb to the atrocities that prevails all round him like a cancer virus that is spreading and becoming a great cause for concern. We are being led into a nightmare that we will in the end find it very difficult to wake up from until it is too late.

The United Nation, the collective body created to safeguard the well being of all of humanity on this Planet should be held responsible for each and every tragedy that is haunting the human race today. The failure to take appropriate actions by the UN security forces has allowed for those in power in many countries to exercise their will over their own people or impose their will over weaker nations at gunpoint. The UN Security Council made up of permanent members of so called super powers should be disbanded as it has been the major obstruction towards any collective military intervention into many conflicts that could have been resolved had it not been for the disagreement by these powers that suits their own agenda of hegemony in these conflicts. Had it not been for the self serving interests of these permanent members in the Security Council, unilateral action could have been take to diffuse many potential conflicts on this planet in the past and today.

There is no doubt in my mind that this would be a mere wishful thinking of a naive citizen of this planet but I believe that if there is any trials that should take place in the International Court of Justice it should be the UN; those holding the key roles in these matters be called to task. The rest of humanity deserves to know where lies the true course of the UN in carrying out its duty towards attaining peace throughout the world. As French President Emmanuel Macron is said to have said of NATO recently that, " NATO is brain dead," the UN too is not any more different in its present state of helplessness. It must have taken a whole lot discerning if not judicious courage for the Gambia government to undertake the litigation action against Myanmar as it has really nothing to gain by doing so except  for a humanitarian act to bring the world's attention to the genocide issues perpetrated by the accused nation. If nothng, it has helped to open the doors of opportunity for the UN to further carry out monitory actions in Myanmar. Failing to follow up on this opportunity would tantamount to yet another failure in the UN to carry out its assigned duties to the world.

Aung San Suk Yi may or may not be guilty in this matter that concerns her country, however she should and must never end up a scapegoat allowing for those who are truly the culprits to walk Scot free and continuing doing what they have been doing with impunity. Being a devout Buddhist country most Burmese would have to reflect upon the Karmic consequences of the nation's transgressions towards the Rohingy as and it is upon their conscience that this crime lies. Aung San Suk Yi is but an innocent martyr for a cause that her country as her father was and would have wanted her to do.
