What if the Malays....

Malaysia, this country has everything that a nation would probably need in terms of resources both natural as well as human resources and further more this country is relatively free from major natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons and no volcanoes to speak of, We have some of the most attractive landscapes and our jungles and mountains are among the oldest and most beautiful in the world, our beaches are some of the most pristine and colorful that one can find anywhere on the planet. We are blessed as a country that has its own petroleum resources and our own automotive industry that comparable to many in the world. Malaysia what else could we ask for that is not already there for our pleasures? Why are we not the happiest people on earth?
Malaysians are among some of the most talented people in the world and we take pride in who we are and what we have accomplished in a very short period of time since our independence.  But every Malaysian pretty much knows all about it and for those who don't realize it by now, really, I see no hope for that they ever will. These are the moaners and whiners who has no perception of what it is that have inherit as far as the country is concern and will be always dissatisfied with their lives as Malaysians. These are the people who will always find faults with others who they feel are the cause of their miseries, they are rarely thankful or grateful for having what they already have and will always feel lacking in one way or another and these are the ones that needs to be educated, have their eyes opened, their minds freed from the delusion that live by, these are the one who we need to be awakened from their mindless sleep and see the light of day that everyone is basking in. No they are not just the poor or the ignorant they are also among the rich and well educated, the moaners and whiners belongs to all levels of society. There are a great many poor and illiterates among Malaysians whose lives i envy and there many among those who owns just about anything and everything that one can possibly own but whose life i would not want to wish upon my worse of enemies.
So, why is this so? Why are we as a people who live in a country that has and possibly could provide as much happiness in terms of material as well as spiritual wealth to all be not happy and living in harmony with one another? How is it that we keep dragging ourselves into discord if not suffering like we are infected by some kind of unhappy virus or addiction towards to just not being happy? Even when everything is out there why do we feel like we are lacking? Why are we so greedy for more than what we already have, why do we hate our neighbor for being of a different race or ethnic group? Why do we feel like we need to be superior over our fellow countrymen even when we know that superiority is just a matter of relative perception as there will always be someone more superior than us? In short why do we insist of being stupid and incur unhappiness for the rest of our countrymen. Can we change? Is there any hope that we can each and everyone of us see the light, catch a glimpse of it and change for the better, that we might make it a happier and better place for all of us without turning it into just another shit hole third world country.
One of the greatest asset we have in Malaysia is in being a multi-racial country with three distinct races and other minor ethnic groups making up our population. However most see it as a drawback for the fact that why should there be others who claim being a part of this country when my people were here first and we belong to the land like what the Malays claim they are through being the "Bumiputras" or translated to mean "sons of the Soil." or something to that effect. For yeas now since independence the Malays have enjoyed their special status to the detriment of the others and sometimes can be deemed as a blatant unfairness towards non-Malays. I sincerely wish one day soon the Malays would wake up and do the right thing and put a stop to this nonsense. Declare themselves as equals to the rest of the country making no extra demands based on the fact of being Malays. Only this brave act can create a clean slate for our nation to step forward into the future as a very strong nation, united and tolerant. By doing this the Malays will earn the genuine respect that they deserve and there will be very little anyone can do to undermine our racial harmony as politicians and other radical groups out to use race as a tool for divide and conquer in politics, social as well as religious interests will find it harder to convince the Malays that they are being threatened constantly by others.
By giving up the Malay rights , Malays can prove to the rest of Malaysians that they are strong and resourceful just like the rest of Malaysians. By being willing to take this leap of faith the Malays will find that the other races will come to their aid willingly more so than they will ever do. When a sacrifice such as this is being taken the rest of the society will have a different view of those who have made this sacrifice. What have the Malays to loose? Their Pride?, Their wealth? Their country? It has been many years now and being in the same status of trying to cling on to their special preferential status as Bumi Putras, but what have they really gained? This is for the Malays themselves to look at with depth and open mindedness. and what can they show to the world if they choose to allow for and open playing field without being forced to do so sometime in the future when things really gets too much for the others to endure. The Malays in my mind can rewrite history and claim their integrity in a more noble manner than what they have trying to do for the last fifty years. It is time to change and if change we must that let us make it a change that will bring the eyes of the world to Malaysians and the Malays themselves.
But  this is just  a pipe dream a wishful thinking on my part, a what if.. For anything as close as this to happen we would have to convince the likes of Ibrahim Ali, the head of the Ultra Malay movement "Perkasa" who from the day he formed the movement has been championing the Malay cause making sure that the Malays are not threatened in any way as to their heritage as the Bumi Putras. This and a few others like him who did not make it as real politicians to become champions for the Malays and for me these are the people who help to weaken the Malays in their self determination and confidence as a race that can stand tall as equals to other races in this country and deliver.
Zaid said for the first time in history, the Prime Minister and the Home Minister had publicly declared many times that the Malays and Islam were under threat.
He said the PM and the Home Minister were referring to non-Malays and non-Muslims as enemies of Islam and the Malays....Zaid Ibrahim
However, Umno divisions and a group called Gerakan Warganegara Mempertahankan Akta Hasutan 1948 have called for the Sedition Act to be retained to protect the position of the Malays, Islam and the royalty. - See more at: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/dr-m-tells-former-igp-to-try-the-death-sentence#sthash.cJ2Loql6.dpuf

There are groups i have never heard of and there they are "protecting the position of the Malays, Islam and the royalty. Why, if one ask, who is attacking these rights?
Even PAS has moved away from being the champion of solely for the Muslim Malays in recent years and saw how they have moved forward to be respected by the non-Malays community, however this small group of Ultra -Malays will lead the Malays not to greater heights but towards their own self manifested doom simply because theirs is a scare tactic, the fear that the Chinese will dominate and run them to the ground, along with the Indians and other Ethinc groups. Their tactic deprives the Malays of their pride in being able to face adversities on their own merit and not through political or violent means. Like i said earlier Malaysia does not lack smart people and the Malays have many intelligent and wise men and women throughout  their history and most today are sidelined by those who knows which buttons to push to move the Malays into and emotionally charged frenzy and there is no danger more frightful than when the Malays are aroused.
This is what the Tun M or the Doctor has to say about the Malays yesterday!

"If anyone asks me today, I would have to say Malays are lazy..."When they fail, they say we will go and become Mat Rempit. Look at the gender breakdown in our public universities.
"Women make up 70% of the students while men are a mere 30%. What has happened? Is Malaysia lacking in males?
"No, the Malay men appear to feel proud to be Mat Rempit. They do not feel ashamed when they fail in their examinations."
Dr Mahathir said he spent 22 years as prime minister trying to change the mindset of the Malays and turn them around.
Another failing among the Malays, he said, was the lack of honesty and integrity, and their failure to handle money properly.
He spoke of his experience running a bakery after his retirement from politics.
"I am operating a bakery and have given many opportunities to Malays to hold management positions.
"Unfortunately, time and time again, honesty and integrity appear to be lacking as there have been staff who keep stealing.
"They do not seem to understand that it is wrong to take what is not theirs, they do not think of the big picture or the long term."

Hence I rest my case.
